Woodland Nook Trestle Table.

This table was part of a custom three piece booth style arrangement for a client’s kitchen breakfast nook.  The entire table is solid cherry, with the exception of the stretcher keys and stretcher vertical support columns, which were crafted from solid walnut.  Cherry is a beautiful, relatively durable hardwood, which creates elegant, small moments of contrast with the walnut elements in the table.  The table frame joinery consists of 14 mortise and tenons, and the base is connected to the tabletop with a slotted bolt / threaded insert system.  This allows the table top to expand and contract with changes in humidity, and also allows for easy, clean, repeatable assembly.

The finish is a medium sheen varnish which is extremely durable and allows the wood’s natural beauty and color to shine through.
